Bustos Closes on Adelante Purchase

BUSTOS MEDIA ANNOUNCES CLOSING OF SEATTLE AND EASTERN WASHINGTON STATIONS

Portland, OR (12/10/14) – Bustos Media CEO, Amador S. Bustos announced today the closing of the purchase of nine Washington stations from Adelante Media Group.

“We are delighted to have concluded this process. The folks from Adelante were very professional and proactive in making this transaction go as smoothly as possible,” said Bustos. Bill Fanning, Managing Director of Media Venture Partners, handled the transaction on behalf of the seller.

On September 16th, both sides announced the purchase and the start of a Local Management Agreement (LMA). The nine stations are spread in five Washington markets:

  • Seattle: KDDS 99.3FM and KMIA 1210AM
  • Yakima: KZTA 96.9FM and KDYK 1020AM
  • Tri-Cities: KZTB 97.9FM and KMMG 96.7FM
  • Wenatchee: KZML 95.9FM and KZML-FM1
  • Moses Lake: KZUS 92.3FM and KULE 730AM

About Bustos Media Holdings:

Beside the nine Washington stations acquired, Bustos Media also owns five AM and three FM radio stations in the Portland/Salem market. Five of the Portland stations have Spanish language programming and three have Russian language formats. Bustos Media also owns stations in San Jose, Dallas, Houston and Austin. Two of these stations are in Vietnamese language, one in Christian talk and one in China-based programming.

Bustos Purchases Seattle & Eastern Washington Stations

BUSTOS MEDIA HOLDINGS, LLC ANNOUNCED THE PURCHASE OF SEATTLE AND  ASTERN WASHINGTON STATIONS FROM ADELANTE MEDIA GROUP

Portland, OR (9/16/14) – Today, Amador Bustos and Jay Meyers, Adelante’s CEO, visited the Seattle and Eastern Washington staff to announce the transfer of its nine radio stations to their former owner; Bustos Media.

Bustos Media’s CEO, Amador S. Bustos said, “It’s like returning home one more time. We have bought and sold Spanish radio stations in Washington three times since we first bought KZTA in Yakima back in 1990.” Mr. Bustos added, “We will continue to build on the good work Adelante has done in these markets.”

It was further announced that Bustos Media will begin a Local Management Agreement (LMA) on the properties while the parties await regulatory approval of the sale. Bill Fanning, Managing Director of Media Venture Partners, handled the transaction on behalf of the seller.

Bustos Media Launches Noticiero 1520

Bustos Media launched today NOTICIERO 1520. It is the only local radio newscast. The three minute newscast will air at the top of the hour from 6AM to 10 AM on La GranD 1520 AM. It will be focus on local news items affecting the Hispanic community.

Amador S. Bustos, President and CEO of Bustos Media said, “We are very proud to bring Portland a local newscast. It is particularly significant because other than the Bustos Media Group, all other Spanish language stations take their morning drive programming from national syndicated networks which have little local content or relevance.”
